Blog 6 of The Blind Side

Reflection: An overall reflection of The Blind Side is that it is a very good book. The book seems like it would only be interesting to people who like football, but it is still a page turner for people who aren't fans of the game football. I didn't understand the book as much as someone who knows a lot about football at first but as you read more in to the book you keep learning more about the game. Even if you don't know anything about football or you aren't interested in the game at all its fine because  the book is more then just about football. The book also has a very emotional side to it and is also very meaningful and inspirational. I personally, really liked the book because I learned a lot about football and also got to read about a true
inspirational, true story.

Five interesting facts:
  • Michael Oher the main character in the book went on to going on to professional football playing and is now on the ravens which was the most recent team to win the Super Bowl.
  • The Blind Side was a true story.
  • The story also teaches you a lot about football.
  • The main place where Michael Oher was born and spent his childhood was one of the poorest areas in the United Stated of America.
  • His football position is one of the most important positions in the game of football.

The Blind Side chapter 12

Summary: In the final chapter of The Blind Side a tragic situation occurs. Micael gets into a conflict with Antonio Tuner which leads to a small boy injured. All he wants to do is run, so he runs. After running and the ambulance comes to find a little white boy injured the police wanted to press chargers and Michael was extremely scared. Michael called his adopted father Sean Tuohy and he took care of everything like he promised. Coaches found out the incident that happened and learned that the skill that Michael had that was to protect his fellow team mates in a football game is more then just playing the game it can also cause conflicts. It threatens his promising football career... He decided to focus on his football career more and prove the more professional teams that he was worth their time.

Focus - Why is Michael's protective instincts a good thing?: The reason why Michael's protective instincts are a good thing is because it saved his adopted brothers life when they got in to the car accident and it's what has got Michael such a good football career. The position that he plays is the position that includes him protecting his team mates from the opposing team. Those protective instincts are what got him in to playing on amazing team and to get so many scholarships for the best collages.

Review: My opinion on this last chapter of The Blind Side was that what happened to Michael was a bad situation but the good side to it was that it taught him a lesson and showed him how he should focus more on his career of becoming a football star then other things. It also shows how its okay to make a mistake which Michael did and it will also just teach you a lesson.

The Blind Side chapter 11

Summary: In chapter 11 the author reveals more about Michaels past and not his future or present. More about his childhood and his relationship he had with his mother and what happened to her. Michaels mother is also brought up in the book by meeting with Leigh Anne Touhy. Leigh Anne went out of her way to meet up with Michaels birth mother to find out what was really going on with Michael. She makes a big decision to do that just to find out what really happened to Michael through out his childhood and his past.Michael's birth mother also gave birth to multiple other children. She did drugs, drank a lot, slept with other men. She didn't really ever have her life together which is why she could never really raise Michael very well. He grew up in one of the poorest places in the United States Of America so she could never really provide for him and he was always surrounded by violence.

Dangerous areas

What do you think Leigh Anne Tuohy's inspiration was to reach out to Michaels mother?: Leigh Anne Tuohy's inspiration to help Michael and learn more about his mother and his childhood was so she could help him more and understand Michael more. I think it would've taken a lot of confidence to do what she did which was to go out of her way to talk to his birth mother. I think it is very inspirational because it shows how much Leigh Anne Tuohy really cared for michael.

Review: My oppinion on chapter 11 is that I think it is good that the author revealed more about Michael's past then his present because it gives you more of an understanding of Michael and what he is like and why he is like that. It also explains more abour his mother and his mothers culture.

The Blind Side chapter 8-10

Summary:In chapter 8 through 10 it explains how Michael being adopted by the Tuohy family could all be fake because of reasons like getting a lot of money because of Michael being a promising athlete. The author then begins to explain how important Michaels football position is so important in the game.

Would you do the same thing as Leigh Anne to help Michael?:Leigh Anne Tuohy made a big decision in her life and family's life to take Michael in and adopt him and to take care of him. To make a decision like that would take a lot of time to figure out but Leigh anne just made the choice right away for herself, Michael, and her whole family. I would make the same decision as Leigh Anne Tuohy but it would be a very hard a big one that would change your life.

"I'm not changing that boys life...he's changing mine."
